Directions/ Word Choice/ Structure	Fair The student followed most directions but lacks creativity, or had only 4-6 complete lines.	Good The student followed all directions but repeated some ideas, or had only 7-9 lines complete in the poem.	Excellent The student followed all directions, and wrote 18 lines with insightful, descriptive word choice.
Words spelled correctly	Fair Some words were spelled correctly.	Good Most words were spelled correctly.	Excellent All words were spelled correctly.
Neat	Fair Biopoem is not clear and some lines are not in the correct order.	Good Biopoem is neat but not in the correct order.	Excellent Biopoem is neatly written and easy to understand.
