Technology Class Participation Grade
This rubric assesses a student's performance during in-class activities, including computer based learning activities and 'unplugged' activities that do not use the computers. Elements such as participation, pro-activity, skill proficiency, and follow-through are assessed in varying degrees according to the rubric.

ENGAGEMENT AND BEHAVIOR
Excellent
The student is actively engaged in the activity from beginning to end, asking questions when he cannot find answers alone and assisting other students when needed.
Good
The student is mostly engaged with the project and completes the demands of the project to a satisfactory level.
Fair
The Student is not actively engaged with the activity and has not gained enough insight from the material. The students makes little progress and is occasionally distracted by other students and may also occasionally distract his or her classmates.
Poor
The students demonstrates little or no engagement in the activity and is frequently distracted. The student never asks for help, is usually distracted or off-task, and often prevents his or her classmates from completing their own assignment.
PROOACTIVITY
Excellent
Student is proactive during self-guided interactive tutorials and exhibits exceptional self-learning skills.
Good
Student completes self-directed tasks, asks the teacher for assistance when needed.
Fair
Student frequently stops during the lesson and does not request assistance. Student does not stay on track.
Poor
The student fails to complete the self-guided task and never asks for assistance when stuck.
COOPERATION
(For group -based projects)
Excellent
Student cooperates with other students and makes an excellent contribution to group learning activities.
Good
Student makes a satisfactory effort to contribute to the group and never distracts the group from its goals.
Fair
Student does not contribute to the group effort and occasionally distracts the group from its central goals.
Poor
Student consistently fails to stay on track with the group project, and often keeps the group from succeeding by distracting the group distracts other members of the group.
SKILLS AND LEARNING
Excellent
The student exhibits exceptional adaption and digestion of the skills and tools dispersed through the activities, attaining a competency and proficiency with all new terms and concepts.
Good
The students has adopted and implemented some but not all of the skills from the activity. The student requires some help from classmates or the teacher in order to fully digest the material.
Fair
While some learning and skill development may have taken place, the student has missed out on most of the core skills needed for successful completion of the activity.
Poor
The student has not learned anything from the activity and has virtually no takeaways from the experience.
