Interview - Getting to know our class 
Students will create six questions in a group and then interview a classmate using only those six questions and the interview skills we learned in class. Students will then write an article about the person they interview and present it to the class.

The interviewer asks insightful, in-depth, thought-provoking questions that may not be answered in one word. The interviewee supplies a complete, well-thought answer. There is a sequence to the questions.
Meets Standard

The interviewer asks at least 5 insightful, in-depth questions that may not be answered in one word. The interviewee supplies some, well -thought answers. There is some sequence to the questions.
Approaching Standard

The interviewer asks 3-4, in-depth, thought provoking questions. The interviewee supplies few well-thought answers. There is little sequence to the questions.
Below Standard

Less than 3 questions are not thought-provoking or relevant OR the interview is not conducted.
Interview Notes

Exceeds Standard

Notes are clear and concise; it is obvious that the interviewer took time to carefully transcribe quotes and important information. Interviewer has more than enough information for his or her article
Meets Standard

Most of the notes are clear and the majority of the information is relevant to the interview. Most quotes are transcribed accurately. interviewer has sufficient information for his or her article
Approaching Standard

Some quotes have been transcribed, but overall the interviewer doesn't have many direct quotes or the information is not clear or relevant. The interviewer has some information to write his or her article, but not enough for a full page.
Below Standard

No quotes have been transcribed or the information is irrelevant or not present at all. There is not enough information to complete the assignment.
Professionalism

Exceeds Standard

The interviewer remains professional throughout the interview and does not stray from the topic. During the presentation he or she is clear and engaging; he or she speaks clearly, and loud enough for audience.
Meets Standard

The interviewer remains mostly professional throughout the interview and mostly stays on topic. During the presentation he or she is mostly clear and engaging. He or she mostly speaks clearly, and can be heard by the audience.
Approaching Standard

During the interview, the interviewer is unprofessional and mostly does not stay on task. During the presentation he or she may fidget, does not speak clearly, nor loud enough for audience, can still be heard but slightly.
Below Standard

During the interview the interviewer is almost always off task or the interview was not conducted at all.
Interviewer and subject are nervous, unprepared. During the presentation he or she does not speak clearly, or loud enough for audience; constantly fidgeting. Eye contact is lacking or audience is never addressed. Or the interview is never conducted.

Exceeds Standard

The written product is descriptive and gives a clear, overall picture of the person who was interviewed. The article is unique and clearly incorporates quotes and details from the interview to paint a picture of the person who was interviewed.
Meets Standard

The written product is mostly descriptive and gives a clear, overall picture of the person who was interviewed. Some quotes and details from the interview are included to support the description of the interviewee.
Approaching Standard

The written product is somewhat descriptive but some descriptions are overly general. Few quotes and details from the interview are included to support the description of the interviewee.
Below Standard

The written product overly general and it is not clear who was interviewed. There are very few or no quotes and details from the interview included to support the description of the interviewee.

Meets Standard

Paper is turned late; has several grammar and spelling mistakes that interfere with meaning; essay is typed but does not follow MLA rules.
Below Standard

Paper is turned late; has numerous grammar and spelling mistakes that make it difficult to understand and/or the essay is not typed.
