Fair The length of the entry was met and the writing did seem to focus on the character, but the character was not fully developed.	Good The length of the entry was met and the writing completely reveals qualities and life experiences for the new character.
Poetry	Poor There was no poetry written "by the new character" or it did not seem related to the character.	Fair The poem appeared to be written by the character but did not reveal any qualities of the character or did not follow the format of the novel.	Good The poem had a style unique to this character and expanded on qualities and life experiences from the journal entry.
