Used Research	Well Below Expectation No facts were used and the research was done on opinion.	Poor Only a few facts were used, and it was mostly based upon opinion.	Good Stats and information was cited, but some sources were missed.	At or Above Expectation Facts and statistics were used and sources were cited effectively throughout the student's individual presentation.
Understanding of Topic	Well Below Expectation Research shows little or no topic understanding.	Poor Research shows a moderate level of topic understanding.	Good Research shows a good level of topic understanding.	At or Above Expectation Research shows a high level of topic understanding.
Personal Participation	Well Below Expectation Does not participate in question development or debate.	Poor Participates minimally in question development and debate.	Good Participates in question development and debate most of the time.	At or Above Expectation Was a team player in the question development and debate process.
Question Writing	Well Below Expectation No questions were developed.	Poor Questions developed are low level and basic.	Good Some questions developed are thought provoking, but most are basic knowledge questions.	At or Above Expectation Most questions developed are thought provoking and require research to answer. Very few basic knowledge questions are included.
