Mountain Models Student will create papier mache models of different types of mountains and paint them using colors appropriate to the composition of the mountain.
	Needs Improvement Student is unable to complete all aspects of the assignment or give an explanation of how mountains are formed or how they change. 1 pts	Meets Expectations Student completed all aspects of the assignment and can give a basic explanation of how mountains are formed and how they change. 2 pts	Exceeds Expectations Student completed all aspects of the assignment and shows a deep understanding of how mountains are formed and how they change. 3 pts
Structure Student is able to construct a model that accurately represents the type of mountain they have chosen.	Needs Improvement Model does not resemble the type of mountain indicated by the student.	Meets Expectations Model somewhat resembles they type of mountain chosen by the student.	Exceeds Expectations Model is an accurate representation of the type of model chosen by the student.
Color Choice Student uses paint colors appropriate to the composition of the mountain they chose to decorate the model.	Needs Improvement Colors do not represent the naturally occurring colors of the type of mountain the student has chosen.	Meets Expectations Colors mostly represent the naturally occurring colors of the type of mountain the student has chosen.	Exceeds Expectations Colors represent an accurate portrait of the landscape of the mountain type chosen.
Description Student can explain what type of mountain they chose to build, dome, block, fault block mountains or volcanic.	Needs Improvement Students give a rudimentary explanation of the type of mountain, how it is formed and what forces cause it to change.
