"Passport to Genre" Book Reports 
"Book It" Book Report
Every month the student will complete a book report on a text they have independently read at, or above, the sixth grade level. The student is required to chose a different book, from a different genre, each month. Regardless of genre, this rubric will be used to grade completeness, neatness, grammar, and comprehension and content awareness of the text that he/she read.

The report demonstrates detailed comprehension of the main idea/theme.

It was not necessary for the teacher to read the book or "look up" information.

The student completed all aspects of the report.

The student made an effort to attend to extra details.

The student completed most of the report.

The student showed little effort in providing details and seems "just done".
Poor

The student did not complete most of the report.

The student showed no effort to provide information/details.
