Student speaks clearly and distinctly while utilizing appropriately varied volume, pitch, tone, tempo and inflection. Vocal expression clearly conveyed the intended emotion.
Music/Costume

Student brought music and had an appropriate costume.

Student did not have his/her music. Student forgot costume.

Student forgot their costume or did not dress appropriately.
Student sang without music.
Strong

Student had music and dressed for the role in the musical.
Characterization

Weak

Student established little or no character as evidenced by the student merely delivering someone else's lines. There was no evidence of character dimension and complexity.
Average

Student clearly prepared and established the character yet the delivery lacked understanding of character dimension and complexity.
Strong

Student clearly prepared and established the character. The dimensions and complexities of the character were embraced and delivered.
