Black Dot Art Black Dot Art With a little imagination, a black dot can become very interesting indeed! The task – use one sheet of white paper and one black dot to create a piece of artwork. Creativity	Level 1 Artwork does not incorporate the use of the black dot. This may be caused by rushing through artwork or lack of understanding during the lesson.	Level 2 Artwork uses the black dot in a minimal way. Not much is added to the background of the picture.	Level 3 Artwork successfully uses the black dot to create a picture. Background is incorporated successfully into the picture.	Level 4 Excellent use of the black dot to create a piece of art It is clear you planned out how the black dot would effect the overall look of your artwork. Excellent job.
Craftsmanship	Level 1 Very poor craftsmanship. Drawing is not neatly executed.	Level 2 Craftsmanship lacks detail. Art work is carelessly put together.	Level 3 Good craftsmanship. Most of your project is neat and clean.	Level 4 Excellent craftsmanship! You have taken your time. Your work is neat, clean and skillfully done.
Daily Work Expectations	Level 1 Student did not use time wisely. Often distracted and disengaged. Spent much of his/her art time involved in other things unrelated to art.	Level 2 Student stayed on task some of the time, allowed distractions. Did not always follow daily expectations.	Level 3 Student was engaged most of the time. Followed daily expectations.	Level 4 Student was fully engaged in their art work. Always followed daily expectations.
