Vocabulary Words: Basic Greetings
Good
Students are able to respond and reply to basic greetings in Spanish in full sentences. They move beyond the basic understanding and are able to apply it by using more than one appropriate response to basic greetings.
Fair
Students correctly define the basic greeting vocabulary words. They understand the basic meanings.
Poor
Student is unable to recall what the basic greetings in Spanish are.
Telling Time in Spanish
Good
Students will demonstrate that they know how to tell time in Spanish by creating a clock in class and they will be able to correctly tell time in Spanish. Advanced points for being able to use: menos (less), y cuarto (quarter hour), de la manana (in the morning), de la tarde (in the afternoon) and de la noche (in the evening).
Fair
Students are able to tell basic time in Spanish. They will be able to use their knowledge of numbers to tell time, as well as en punto (on the dot), and y media (and 30 minutes).
Poor
Student is unable to use the basic numbers to tell time on the hour (1-12).
Basic Pronouns in Spanish
Good
Students will compose full sentences to apply what they have learned by using the pronouns in full sentences and also by changing the pronouns to names.
Fair
Students define the 6 basic prounouns in Spanish, telling which person they are using.
Poor
Student is unable to define the basic pronouns.
