Mystery Number Mystery Number The students will use problem solving to figure out a mystery number that has four digits. Every digit is an odd niumner. None of the digits is a 9. Every digit in the number is different. The smallest digit is in the thousands place. The greatest digit is in the one's place. The preceding describes two possible numbers. The mystery number is greater of those two numbers. The students have to use critical thinking skills to cme up with the correct answer. Students will provide a written explanation for their answer. Explanation	Minimal Cannot explain why he/she did what they did.	Basic Unclear, not concise, or incomplete.	Proficient Clear with some appropriate Math language, not concise.	Advanced Clear, concise, and uses appropriate Math language.
Satisfies All Requirements	Minimal Does not satisfy requirements of the problem.	Basic Satisfies all requirements of the problem, answer may or may not be correct.	Proficient Satisfies all requirements of the problem, answer partially correct.	Advanced Satisfies all requirements of the problem with correct answer.
