Graphic Organizer	Poor Student completed none or one of the blocks with either pictures or words	Fair Student completed 2 blocks with either pictures or words	Satisfactory Student completed 3 blocks with either pictures or words	Good Student completed 3 blocks with both pictures and words	Outstanding Student completed 3 blocks with words, pictures, and additional detail
Rough Draft	Poor Student wrote 0-1 sentences using information from the graphic organizer with/without support	Fair Student wrote 2 sentences using the information from the graphic organizer with/without support	Satisfactory Student wrote at least 3 sentences from the organizer with no additional detail with/without support	Good Student wrote at least 3 or more sentences using the organizer and added some additional detail with/without support	Outstanding Student wrote 4 or more sentences with increased detail using the graphic organizer as a basis for expanded sentence writing with or without support
Proofreading	Poor Student followed no corrections from the rough draft on the final copy	Fair Student followed some (2 or more) corrections from the rough draft primarily capitalization or punctuation	Satisfactory Student followed many (3-5) corrections, primarily capitalization and punctuation	Good Student followed all of the corrections from the rough draft	Outstanding Student followed all of the corrections from the rough draft and added additional details
Final Copy	Poor Student wrote minimally with incorrect punctuation and sentence structure even with support Handwriting is illegible.	Fair Student made many errors in sentence struction and punctuation. 60% completed correctly with support Handwriting is somewhat evenly spaced and within the lines.	Satisfactory Student made some errors in using complete sentence structure and punctuation (70-85%) Handwriting is mostly evenly spaced and within the lines	Good Student made no major errors and wrote complete sentences with correct punctuation and capitalization.
