Rubric for Interview Techniques
Students role play counseling session and demonstrate appropriate active listening skills. No questions, no advice, no problem solving. Use active listening skills of paraphrasing, reflections, minimal encouragers, and summarizations. Clarification only when necessary.

Interviewer used facilitation some of the time, though awkward at times. Interviewee seemed hesitant to make more meaningful statements. Interviewer paid some attention to the Interviewee.

Interviewer used facilitation well. Interviewee responded with more meaningful statements. Interviewer did not speak too fast or too slowly. Interviewer was attentive to the answers of the interviewee.
