Que es? Como es? Writing Rubric for Spanish Class The student will select an animal of the choices given the class and write a description of it. The description of the animal needs to include the name, what kind it is, its habitat / envirnment, a detailed description of its appearance, and why the student selected that particular animal to "show and tell". The short essay needs to be well organized and detailed. The final product must be written and presented in Spanish. The value of this assignment is two grades. Completion, Organization & Effort	SENSACIONAL! Writer exceeds or fulfills the requirements by writing fully detailed sentences in the target language and has put care and effort into the process. Paragraph is organinzed and topic is discussed thoroughly.	BRAVO! Writer included somewhat detailed sentences. Writing is generally logical. Most information on topic included. Some detail missing.	BIEN Writer has included some or a few detailed sentences, leaving out key components of the writing prompt. Paragraph is somewhat unorganized.	POBRE Paragraph is very unorganized. There is little or no flow. Incomplete coverage of topic.
General Accuracy	SENSACIONAL! Writer stays in target language throughout and uses correct word order, spelling and punctuation.	BRAVO! Writer usually uses correct word order, spelling and punctuation.	BIEN Writer makes frequent mistakes with word order, spelling and punctuation.	POBRE Writer consistently makes errors with word order, spelling and punctuation.
Presentation	SENSACIONAL! The presenter speaks only in the target language. There are no pronunciation mistakes. The presenter speaks very smoothly and presents in a serious manner.	BRAVO! The presenter speaks almost exclusively in the target language. There are almost no pronunciation mistakes. The presenter speaks almost smoothly and presents in a serious manner.	BIEN The presenter speaks in the target language but includes a little English. There are some pronunciation mistakes. The presenter speaks in a choppy manner and presents somewhat seriously.	POBRE The presenter speaks only a little in the target language and includes too much English. There pronunciation mistakes. The presenter doesn't speak smoothly nor presents in a serious manner.
