Hair Cut

Excellent

Student was able to complete basic haircut and used proper safety and infection control procedures.

Student needed to blend haircut more evenly.

Student needed several reminders to use consistent subsections and partings while cutting hair.

Perm Rods

Excellent

Student was able to complete the perm rod section independently. All rods & bands are parallel with the base and bands are untwisted.

The majority of rods & bands are not parallel with the base of the head and most of the hair is very loose or off the rods.
Blow Dry and Marcel Curls

Excellent

Student was able to listen to directions to complete the blow dry and curl section independently. Had no difficulty with the following tasks and did not give up:
1. clip hair out of way to dry each section
2. manipulate the iron

Student needed a few reminders to complete the blow dry and curl section. Had difficulty with one of the following tasks but did not give up:

Roller Placement

Excellent

Student was able to listen to directions and

1. hair is smooth around roller with no loose pieces when clipped.

Student had difficulty with 2/3 of the following tasks:
1. place rollers from largest to smallest
2. created sub-sections equal length & width.

Student needed a high level of supervision to complete roller placement.
Had difficulty with all of the following tasks.

3.keeping hair smooth.
Sanitation Duties

Excellent

Student recognizes the impotance of team work in a salon enviorment and is a good team member.

Student completes duties but will not help if someone is out.

Student doesn't readily do sanitation on a daily basis but will if told.

Student doesn't try or is unwilling to complete daily assigment.
Saftey and Infection Control

Excellent

Maintains work area in a safe manner throughout the procedure.

Disposes of soiled materials using infection control but forgets to label material.

Student forgets to re-sanitize hands.

Does not disinfect the work area or use protective covering.
