Readiness/Effort	Poor Student is rarely ready for the ball and gives little effort.	Fair Student is sometimes ready for the ball and gives fair effort.	Good Student is usually ready for the ball and gives good effort	Excellent Student is always ready for the ball and gives maximum effort
Sportsmanship/Etiquette	Poor Student rarely exhibits qualities of good sportsmanship	Fair Student sometimes exhibits qualities of good sportsmanship	Good Student often exhibits qualities of good sportsmanship	Excellent Student always exhibits qualities of good sportsmanship. -plays fairly -encourages all teammates -treats opponents and officials with repect Student follows prescribed game etiquette.
Technique	Poor Pass technique is weak; ball rarely gets to the setter	Fair Pass technique is fair; ball sometimes gets to the setter	Good Pass technique is good; ball usually goes to the setter	Excellent Pass technique is exemplary; ball almost always goes to the setter.
Hustle	Poor Student rarely moves to get the ball.	Fair Student sometimes moves to get the ball.	Good Student often moves to get the ball and gets into good position before playing it.	Excellent Student gives extra effort to play the ball and always attempts to get into position before making the play.
score/position	Poor Student rarely knows what the score is and is rarely in position	Fair Student sometimes knows what the score is and is sometimes in position	Good Student usually knows what the score is and is often in position	Excellent Student always knows what the score is and is always in position
