War of 1812 
Students will give a presentation on a battle during the War of 1812 (after choosing from a list provided). In this presentation students will be assessed on the factual content of the information they provide, the winner of the battle, key figures of the specific battle, and the effect that the outcome had in the overall war.

Student gave a very unclear presentation that does not include key figures, outcome of battle, or effect of battle. Majority of information wasn't factual, and student left out numerous gaps.
Good

Student provided some, but not all, key figures in the battle. The outcome of the battle was clear, however, the overall effect on the war was blurry. The content of the presentation was almost complete, yet left out pieces such as death toll.
Excellent

Students have clearly identified key figures of the battle they were given. The outcome of the battle was clearly explained, as well as the effect that this battle had on the overall outcome of the war. Method of warfare was also included, along with death toll.
Visual Aid

Student did not provide a visual aid for their presentation.
Good

Student has a visual aid, but completed it in a poor fashion. Visual aid was sloppy.
Excellent

Student has prepared an excellent visual aid (poster, slide show, etc.) that includes a brief overview of their battle for the audience. Visual aid is neatly done and relevant to topic.
Delivery

Poor

Student was not prepared for presentation, and had not given appropriate time for practice.
Good

The delivery of the speech was clear at certain points, and blurry at others. Student read off of visual aid, and seemed to be not fully prepared for their audience.
Excellent

Delivery should display the amount of time student has prepared. Student didn't read directly from their visual aid, but instead used it as a guide. Overall speech is clear and information is factual and relevant.
Length

Poor

Student was far under time constraint (under 5 minutes).
Good

Student was under the given time constraint (Between 5-8 minutes)
Excellent

Student has given the presentation within the allotted time (Staying within their 9-10 minute length).
