Student struggles with being able to read any notes/ TAB/ or chords correctly, and shows little effort in progressing with reading music.

Student is able to read some notes/ TAB/ or chords correctly, but may show little effort in progressing with reading music, and possibly struggles with retaining a steady tempo and illustrating correct frets, note indication, and chord structure.

Student reads most notes/ TAB /chords correctly, and illustrates progress with reading music, especially in retaining a steady tempo and illustrating correct frets, note indication, and chord structure.

Student reads all notes/ TAB /chords correctly, and illustrates tremendous progress with reading music at more difficult levels with complex rhythms, and new notes and chord voicings.

Student struggles with knowing correct technique, and how to hold the instrument, and produce the sound accurately, and shows little progress with changing this habits.

Student may be able to produce sound, but struggles with playing with the correct fingers on the fretboard, or with making progress with technical facility on the instrument.

Student plays the instrument correctly, and focuses on using the correct posture and fingering, and illustrates progress towards a conscious awareness of technique.

Student demonstrates excellent technique, and has mastered this song or skill.
