Fair The student considered the Principles of Design, but was executed poorly.	Good The student used some knowledge of the Principles of Design, but not quite as effectively as they could have.	Excellent The student incorporated what they have learned about layout and design through using the Principles of Design correctly.
Elements of Art	Poor The student did not considered what had been taught about the Elements of Art in their layout or design of the artwork.	Fair The student considered the Elements of Art, but was executed poorly.	Good The student used some knowledge of the Elements of Art, but not quite as effectively as they could have.	Excellent The student incorporated what they have learned about layout and design through using the Elements of Art correctly.
Craftmanship	Poor The work was poor, possibly sloppy and time was not used wisely. More attention to detail should have been used.	Fair The work was fair. Time may not have been used well. The piece of artwork may have looked unfinished.	Good The work was good, but the student could have used their time more wisely and paid more attention to the details.	Excellent The student took their time and did excellent work. The student paid good attention to detail.
Creativity	Poor The student did not get very creative.	Fair There was some creativity there, but more could have been done.	Good The student started to push outside the box and come up with a creative solution to the assignment.	Excellent The student was very creative, thought outside the box, but still incorporated the point of the assignment.
Use of Material	Poor Student did not clean up after themselves, or mistreated the materials.	Fair Student did not quite handle the materials in the way they were taught.	Good Student used the materials correctly but could have used them better.	Excellent Student followed the directions given with the materials, and used them effectively in their artwork.
