Poem is somewhat creative. Ideas are not fully developed or communicated. Word choice somewhat conveys ideas and emotions.
Level 3 - Good

Poem is creative. Ideas are somewhat thought-ful and communicated. Word choice conveys ideas and emotions
Level 4 - Excellent

Poem is very creative and original. Ideas are thoughtful and power-fully communicated. Word choice strongly conveys ideas and emotions.
Analysis of Poet

Level 1 - Poor

Student did not include favorite poem by poet, nor an analysis of poet's work. Did not include a biography, or did not write in own words.
Level 2 - Fair

Included favorite poem by poet. Discusses poet's writing style. How-ever, does not pro-vide examples from poem in analysis. Biography included, but not written in own words.
Level 3 - Good

Discusses poet's writing style. Identifies at least one example from poem in analysis of poet's work. Included biography, but not completely written in own words.
Level 4 - Excellent

Met all requirements of analysis. Clearly discusses poet's writing style. Identifies specific examples from poem in analysis. Biography is clear and accurate, written in student's own words.
Analysis of song lyrics
