Creating a Myth Writing Assignment Creating a Myth Writing Assignment After reading different Native American and Cultural Myths and having a class discussion, the students will write their own myth/legend. There is logical order to the story	Terrific Work Myth clearly organized by the plot map: exposition, rising action, climax, falling action and resolution	Strong Work Myth contains all of the elements of the plot map in order but is hard to follow or confusing at times.	Work Could Improve Some parts of the plot map are missing and the myth is unclear or disorganized.	Something Is Missing Topic and story are confusing for the reader. No attempt to organized myth made.
Follows myth/legend format	Terrific Work Evidence of myth/legend format to story clear and well done - explains something from nature or the creation of life. contains a minimum of 2 additional elements	Strong Work Some connections to myth/legend format made. Two elements used instead of three. Missing the origin of creation	Work Could Improve Few connections to myth/legend format made.
