Subtractive Sculptures

Figure: Abstract/Realistic	Beginning Piece has been carved	Satisfactory Piece is a satisfactorily pleasing construction when viewed from one side	Proficient Piece is a unifed, aesthetically pleasing construction when viewed from all angles
Construction & Detail	Beginning Model is loose, messy and unbalanced in a way that demonstrates limited degree of care in construction and no attention to detail	Satisfactory Model is secure, and balanced in a way that demonstrates control of media used. Piece shows a satisfactory degree of care in construction and shows adequate attention to detail	Proficient Model is strong, neat and balanced in a way that demonstrates control of media used. Piece shows a high degree of care in construction and shows very good attention to detail
Materials	Beginning Student wasted materials or used them inappropriately	Satisfactory Student made good use of materials	Proficient Student used materials thoughtfully and carefully or in an innovative way
Time	Beginning Student did not use time allotted wisely	Satisfactory Student made good use of time, but wasted time by not being on task or by cleaning up early.	Proficient Student was always on task and used the time allotted to their best ability.
