Unit 2: Hendrix Chenault Theater
Students were assigned to draw the entrance of the Hendrix Chenault Theater. This is their first project grade, 100 points. This work demonstrates each student's understanding of everything we have learned so far this semester. They were to apply the clock method, create an image from their perspective, apply shading, and have the artwork be proportional.

Perspective
30 pts

Students were to demonstrate their understanding of two point perspective, use the clock method, demonstrate their understanding of proportion, use of perpendicular lines, and shading.

Exceeding

The artwork is planned carefully; understanding of all concepts and instructions is clearly shown.

Student has clearly shown growth in skill level and design ability.

Student's artwork is clean there are no stray marks on their paper. They used the clock method correctly. They used perpendicular lines where appropriate. It has been edited to the highest degree of craftsmanship.

Fully Meeting

The artwork is planned carefully; understanding of most concepts and instructions is shown.

Student has shown some growth in skill level and design ability.

Student did not always use the clock method correctly, or did not use perpendicular lines correctly. Some of the angles are incorrect. Work needs to be cleaned up. Work needs to reflect clean straight lines and clean erasing.

25-26, B- B+
Meeting

The art work is planned adequately; understanding of some concepts and instructions shown.

Student has clearly shown growth in skill level and design ability.

Student's artwork meets the requirement but the artwork lacks attention to detail.

23-24, C+ B-
Minimally Meeting

The artwork shows little evidence of understanding the concepts and instructions.
18-20, A-, A, A+
Fully Meeting

Showed some variety of values in shading.
Missing some areas of darkest values.
Missing some areas of light values.
The textures are somewhat varied but student could do more.
