Line Variety jagged, curved, broken, dashed, spiral, straight, wavy, zigzag lines	Poor Use of line types and visual interest is minimal.	Fair Two different types of lines were used, offers some visual interest in variation.	Good At least 3 different types of lines are used. Art work is unique.
Line Quality line weight, line length, changes in direction	Poor No care or very little care was given to application of line.	Fair Line was sometimes drawn with sensitivity and applied in some areas.	Good Variation in pressure and feel of line was used to show changes throughout drawing.
Composition/ Design Planning through thumbnails and rough drafts. Creative Problem solving.	Poor The student fulfilled the assignment, but gave no evidence of trying to use art elements.	Fair The student tried one idea, and carried it out adequately	Good Thought was given to the arrangement of lines in order to achieve variety. The student tried a several new ideas.
Craftsmanship/ Finish Work finished to the best of the students ability, and is neat with few stray marks and no tears/folds.	Poor Media is used incorrectly,drawing is unfinished or appears messy.	Fair Media is used fairly well but could be improved or cleaned up. Some areas of the drawing may need further attention.	Good Media is used carefully and skillfully and the drawing is completely finished.
