Photomanipulation project (Surreal composition) 
Using Photoshop to produce a surrealistic composition from a folder of instructor provided images, students apply knowledge of selections, masking, image adjustments, layer blending modes, layer effects, adjustment layers and associated techniques. The goal is to use the tools and techniques to create a design that communicates a particular theme or message defined by the assignment criteria.

One or two graphic elements and/or images used in the Project were made or customized by the student, but the ideas demonstrated were very similar to the instructor's example. Some care was taken in the arrangement of the elements.

The student did not really make or customize any of the items in the Project. Elements were inadequate or unstructured.

Student has made some effort in applying the techniques as shown and/or is showing some improvement in the design area as compared to previous assignments.

Student has used one or two of the techniques shown, but displays only minimal design improvement over previous assignments. Student did not watch all parts of the screencast, as multiple techniques were missing from the work.
Below Average (D)

Student used one or fewer techniques as shown; work displays no measurable design improvement.
Unsatisfactory (F)

No signs of Improvement or not applying learned skills
