Interview with an Immigrant and Comparing with a Partner Interview Students will interview an immigrant they know (family, friend, staff member). The students compose 5 questions themselves, and teacher provides 2 more questions to ask interviewee. When they get back to class, students will compare/contrast the responses that they received with a partner's responses. Fair Student composed questions, but were not relevant to topic.	Good Student offered some questions but could have been more relevant questions to interviewee.	Excellent Student came up with many relevant questions to ask the interviewee.
Recording Answers 1 pts Student appropriately recording the answers to the questions that were asked on the interview	Poor Student was not paying attention to speaker and did not record answers.	Fair Student did write the complete answer given by their interviewee.	Good Student recorded answers, but could have recorded the answer more fully.	Excellent Student listens attentively, and recorded all answers from interviewee.
Venn Diagram 1 pts Student works with partner to compare and contrast answers from interviews	Poor Student does not participate with partner nor does the Venn Diagram.	Fair Student only shares one or two ideas with their partner and does not finish the Venn Diagram.	Good Student shares several ideas with group and class, and completes the Venn Diagram with several ideas.
