The student is loud enough to be heard and uses voice inflection to enhance his or her piece. The audience feels more connected because of inflection.
Body Language

Poor

The student rocks, sways or leans against board or other object. He or she lacks practice or effort.
Fair

The student may sway, rock or occasionally lean but makes an attempt to connect with audience.
Good

The student's movements are practiced and planned. All of his or her movements enhance the literary piece.
Fluency

Poor

The student has noticeable pauses or takes long breaks between words. The student restarts multiple times and/or stammers over his or her words.
Fair

The student takes minimal pauses or breaks. He or she restarts or stammers 1-2 times.
Good

The student speaks at a fluid, conversational pace with no pauses , breaks, or restarts.
Dress/ Appearance

Poor

The student has not come dressed to present.
Fair

The student has made an attempt at dressing appropriately for their presentation.
Good

The student has dressed appropriately for their oral presentation.
