Dramatic Scene Dramatic Scene Students will create a dramatic scene in which all group member have speaking parts. Rubric Code: E3W7X4 By barbarakoch Ready to use Public Rubric Subject: English Type: Project Grade Levels: 9-12

Dramatic Scene
	Poor Student shows little or no evidence to support the standard 1 pts	Fair Student shows some evidence of meeting standard 2 pts	Good Students shows many examples of meeting standard but does not exceed minimum requirements 3 pts	Excellent Student meets and exceeds minimum requirements of stardards. 4 pts
Content	Poor The characters and dialogue do not show a clear scene from the novel and the scene is missing either beginning, middle or end.	Fair The characters and dialogue show a scene from the novel but the piece is missing a beginning, middle or end.	Good The characters and dialogue show an important scene from the novel and there is a beginning, middle and end though not clearly developed.	Excellent The characters and dialogue show an important scene from the novel. There is a beginning, middle and end that is clearly developed.
Dramatic Elements	Poor No dramatic elements that support and enhance the piece (i.e., staging, dialogue, plot development, etc.)	Fair Few dramatic elements attempt to support the piece, but the elements do not work to enhance the piece.	Good Dramatic elements support and enhance the piece, but some are are weak.	Excellent Excellent dramatic elements support and enhance the piece and all elements are strong.
Presentation	Poor The performance shows no focus, coherence or polish and neither props, costumes nor visual aids are used. Delivery lacked practice.	Fair Some focus, coherence and polish in the presentation. Props, costumes, or visual aids are used, but are not fully effective. Delivery was adequate.	Good Clear focus, coherence and polish in the presentation, but the performance is not fully effective. More practice could have aided the delivery. Props, costumes, or visual aids are used effectively, but quality or quantity could have been improved.	Excellent Complete focus, coherence and polish in the presentation with excellent props, costumes, and visual aids used effectively. the delivery was strong and practice was evident.
Group Work	Poor The group did not work effectively at all.	Fair Most students contributed to the group work, but all did not contribute effectively or consistently.	Good Most students contributed to the group work, but either clear organization, leadership, or strong co-operation was missing. Members did not work effectively to contribute to the end result.	Excellent All students contributed to the organization of the group with strong co-operation, leadership and organizational skills clearly observed in the members.
