Neat Your tessellation should have a clear pattern that each shape contains.	Poor The work is not a tessellation. Contains excessive gaps and shapes/patterns do not match up.	Fair The work contains some gaps. A pattern is visible, but inconsistent throughout the piece.	Excellent The work contains no gaps and has a clear pattern that is consistent throughout the piece.
Colorful and Creative Make your shape into something creative and colorful. This is your piece of art so own it.	Poor The work displays little creativity and no color.	Fair It is apparent that creativity was attempted and the work displays some color.	Excellent Very creative and a great deal of color was used.
Completeness Must use at least 1/4 of sheet of posterboard and is fully covered with the tessellation.	Poor Tessellation is not done on at least 1/4 of a posterboard and did not complete the whole space.	Fair Tessellation is done on 1/4 of posterboard but is not fully covered or tessellation is fully covered but does not not take up 1/4 of posterboard	Excellent Tessellation is done on 1/4 of a posterboard and is completely covered with the tessellation.
Used Classtime Wisely It is important that you stay on task while completing this project.	Poor Was not on track and hardly, if ever, worked on project in class.	Fair Worked on project in class, but was easily sidetracked.	Excellent Always on task and got a lot of work completed during class time.
