The student organizes the book review in a way that is appropriate and makes sense. The ideas flow nicley together.
Fair

The student has some organization to his/her book review, but is lacking a sense of flow and transition from one idea to the next.
Poor

The review lacks organization and structure. There is little to no flow or transition from one idea to the next. The organization does not make sense to the reader.
Plot Elements

Good

Student includes all 6 elements of the plot in detail: exposition, narrative hook, rising action, climax, falling action and the resolution to the story.
Fair

Student includes only 4 plot elements in less detail.
Poor

Student includes 3 or less plot elements. The elements are written so vaguley it seems as if the writer did not understand the story.
Content

Good

Student includes the main idea and at leasts 3 supporting details in the retelling.
Fair

Student includes the main idea and 1-2 supporting details in the retelling.
Poor

Student does not include the main idea and no supporting details in the retelling.

Good

Student retells all the important eents in the sequence or order they happended.

The book review has been proofread, but not completely corrected for grammar, mechanics, and spelling. Presentation is less neat. Lines may not have been skipped.

The book review has not been edited for grammar, mechanics, and spelling. Presentation is messing and difficult to read.
