Drawing Blind

to recognize line variation and detail

Above Average

Drawing was clearly done in a patient and proficient manner. The drawing is definitely "blind" and contains many detailed characteristics of the object. It is clear that this drawing is what is suppose to be and that the student moved around the paper to show form.
Average

There are a few "connector lines" to create the object but it needs more lines to show form. The drawing could've used a bit more attention to detail.
Below Average

Student did not perform the activity "blind". There are few/ no "connector lines." the drawing looks like an outline opposed to moving around the drawing to create form. The drawing may have been done in a hasty manner.
Drawing Modified

outline your object

Above Average

Drawing was clearly done in a patient and proficient manner. The drawing is a modified drawing with attention given to line to create form. It contains many detailed characteristics of the object with perfect proportions.
Average

The drawing looks like the object but more time could have been spent looking at what was being drawn. Line starts to create form and the proportions are good. The drawing could've used a bit more attention to detail.
Below Average

The student tried to create a modified drawing of the object, but did not achieve the lines and proportions to create a good drawing. The drawing may have been done in a hasty manner.
Cross contour lines

Create value change and form

Above Average

Sensitivity of line was used to describe variation of objects, surfaces and shapes. Variation in pressure and feel of line was used to show changes throughout drawing. Cross contour lines were present and were successful in showing the form of the object.
Average

Line was sometimes drawn with sensitivity and variation but was not consistently interesting or was impatiently applied in some areas. Cross contour lines were mostly present and somewhat showed the form of the object.
Below Average

No care or very little care was given to application of line or sensitivity of response to the objects in the still life.
Line was sloppy or quickly sketched in. Cross contour lines were not present or failed to show the form of the object
Background

tie everything together

Above Average

Media is used carefully and skillfully, paper is chosen for its size and quality and the drawing is completely finished. Consideration has been given to presentation and alternatives such as cropping.
Average

Media is used fairly well but could be improved or cleaned up. Some areas of the drawing may need further attention and very little consideration has been given to presentation or alternatives.
Below Average

Media is used sloppily or incorrectly, drawing is unfinished or appears messy and needs attention. Presentation has not been considered.
Creativity

added color to emphasize value change and add interest

Above Average

color added, work is original interesting and unique.
Average

Color was partially added, work was chosen from the 5 choice options given from the teacher
Below Average
