Rhyming Scheme	Poor There is no rhyming scheme. There is no work done	Fair The student has done the necessary work, but has not achieved the rhyming pattern.	Good The student has sufficiently rhymed ABAB, ABCB, AABB style or another such pattern. All verses rhyme.
Appropriate Topic	Poor There is no relation between the topics talked about in class and the topics presented.	Fair The student has selected an appropriate topic and has tried to stick to that topic throughout the poem.	Good The student has chosen a appropriate topic and has used this theme throughout the poem.
Knowledge of Slavery	Poor The student shows no knowledge of slavery.	Fair The student shows a knowledge of some of the topics and concepts discussed in class.	Good The student shows knowledge of all topics covered in class.
