90 Degree Push Up 90 Degree Push Up This rubric will help educators assess students' performing 90 degree push-ups. Each student will do 10 push-ups while their partner videos and evaluates them. 90 Degree Push Up
	Apprentice 1 pts	Proficient 2 pts	Distinguished 3 pts
90 Degree Angle	Apprentice Student does not achieve a 90 degree bend in the elbow on any repetition (straight arms)	Proficient Student achieves a 90 degree bend in the elbows on nearly all repetitions (slight bend)	Distinguished Students achieves a 90 degree bend in the elbows with the upper arms parallel to the floor with each repetition
Arm Extension	Apprentice Student does not fully extend arms on any repetition	Proficient Student fully extends arms on nearly all repetitions (slight bend)	Distinguished Student fully extends arms with each repetition
Body Position	Apprentice Student fails to maintain proper body position throughout the test The body changes - slumps or is curved	Proficient Students maintains proper body position for a portion of the test The body slumps/changes - some bend	Distinguished Student maintains proper body position, keeping a straight line from head to toes throughout the test
Pace	Apprentice Student frequently stops to rest and is unable to maintain a rhythmic pace during the test period	Proficient Student maintains rhythmic pace for the majority of the test period	Distinguished Student maintains a rhythmic pace of one push-up every three seconds for the entirety of the test period
