Introduction	Good - Introduces author - Introduces title - Introduces theme - Clearly written thesis statement	Fair Introduction missing one or more elements	Poor Introduction does not introduce required information and does not have the characteristics of an introduction
Body Paragraphs	Good Each Body Paragraph contains at least one relevant quote and critical analysis	Fair Body paragraphs contain at least one quote and an analysis.	Poor Body paragraphs are missing quotes or analysis.
Conclusion	Good Restates thesis and main points, discusses why it matters, does not introduce irrelevant ideas, and reads like the ending of an essay	Fair Restates thesis and main points	Poor Does not restate thesis and main points
Theme	Good Theme is very clear and strongly supported with concrete details and commentary	Fair Theme is somewhat clear and somewhat supported with concrete details and commentary	Poor Theme is unclear and not supported
