Reading Journals
	Poor 1 pts	Fair 2 pts	Good 3 pts
QUOTATIONS	Poor Students are missing three or more quotes.	Fair Students are missing more than one quote, and have missing page numbers for references.	Good Students have at least one quote for every chapter, written down with page numbers for reference.
LITERARY DEVICES	Poor Students are missing three or more litterary devices.	Fair Students are missing more than one literary device for a particular chapter.	Good Students have identified at least one literary device for every quote.
ANALYSIS	Poor Students are missing three or more complete ideas, have not demonstrated an understanding of the text. Failure to include personal response.	Fair Students are missing more than one complete idea, lacking one or more personal insights/opinions.	Good Students have demonstrated an accurate understanding of the quotation, and how it relates to the text. Students have added personal insight/opinion.
