Effort	Poor Little effort is displayed in the content of the story. Story is difficult to follow. There is no clear plot.	Fair Some effort is displayed in the content and plot of the story. It seems like some effort was made to plan for where the story is going.	Good There is a great amount of effort displayed in the content of the story. The story is easy to follow and there is a clear plotline. It is clear that time was spent planning for the story.
Overall Writing	Poor The story does not go beyond the 14 verbs required in the story. There is no use of past grammatical concepts of incorrect use.	Fair The story includes some past concepts where appropriate but there are problems with usage. The idea was correct but the execution was wrong.	Good Past grammar concepts are used appropriately abd correctly; including use of present tense, infinitive, object pronouns, and progressive tenses if appropriate.
Use of Grammar	Poor It is not clear that there is an understanding of the use of the preterite vs. the imperfect. There are many errors of usage.	Fair Preterite and imperfect were used mostly correctly with only a few errors. Some verbs or indicators may be incorrect or missing.	Good Preterite and imperfect were used correctly. An appropriate amount of verbs and indicators were used. It is clear that there is an understanding of the usage of the two tenses.
