A couple of phrases or ideas may be revisited, but the overall product is carefully written.	Level 4 Poem is creative and highly original. It is evident that the poet put thought into his words and innovatively conveyed his ideas and emotions.
Form	Level 1 Poem is not written in the proper form.	Level 2 Poem is somewhat written in the proper form. It has six or more lines.	Level 3 Poem is written in the proper form. It has 7 or more lines, and title can be found in the verse.	Level 4 Poem is complete and follows its intended form. It has 7 or more lines. It shows complete originality, and uses advanced vocabulary. Title is found in the verse.
Grammar	Level 1 There are numerous spelling or grammar errors, making the poem difficult to understand.	Level 2 The poet's intended meaning is muddled by several spelling or grammar errors.	Level 3 The poem has no spelling errors. and the grammar is appropriate for free verse.	Level 4 Excellent use of English spelling words that are beyond grade level 2. Appropriate grammar is employed consistently throughout the poem.
Attractiveness	Level 1 The poem is distractingly messy or very poorly designed.	Level 2 The poem is acceptably attractive though it may be a bit messy. Coloring is unattractive.	Level 3 The poem is attractive in terms of design, layout and neatness. Coloring is neat.	Level 4 The poem is exceptionally attractive in terms of design, layout and neatness. Coloring is exceptionally attractive.
