Adequate - Content is not comprehensive.- The 5 Ws are addressed, but not well articulated.	Proficient - Content is accurate, - The 5 Ws are stated and are somewhat articulated.	Excelling Content is comprehensive and accurate. The 5 Ws are stated clearly and are well articulated.
Connecting the Story Text-to-Text/Text-to-Self Connections	Needs Improvement State: Little to no connections made. Evidence: Details and/or examples are vague. Elaboration: Little to no connections are made between the article and the text.	Adequate State: A connection is established. Evidence: Details and examples from the article and the text are included. Elaboration: a link is made, but the details are vague.	Proficient State:Information in the response is well organized and good connections among ideas are made. - Evidence/Extend paragraphs include some details from the text. Elaboration: a link between the article and the text is made using some specific details and/or examples. Student summarizes.
