Links attention getter to the thesis through a logical progression of ideas. Ends with a clear thesis statement. Mentions the author and title of the piece.
Theme	Poor Analysis does not indicate a clear understanding of the overall theme of the song.	Fair Mentions the theme of the song but does not offer an indepth analysis. Analysis indicates minimal understanding of the theme of the song.	Excellent Includes an indepth analysis the theme of the song. Analysis of the song indicates a clear and thoughtful understanding of theme of the song.
Poetic/ Literary Devices	Poor Does not identify any poetic/or literary devices of the song. Analysis is basic and vague.	Fair Poetic/or literay devices are identified however, there is minimal indepth analysis. Analysis is vague and offers minimal interpretation or innovative insight.
