Novel Project Multiucutural Research Project Students will read a novel. Students will write a complete summary of the novel to be presented to teacher/class. Students will chose particular passages from the summary. Students will then do a final presentation of work for class on topic. Excellent	Novel Summary Student demonstrates interest and enthusiasm for content material.	Presentation Student demonstrates interest, enthusiasm, and ease with a thorough portrait of conflict and the student is able to answer any/all questions posed.	Creativity Student's work demonstrates innovation, comprehension, and enthusiasm. Student provides relevant information capable of helping audience taking action.	References Work makes reference to three	Conventions of English Final presentations are legible, and contain no errors in punctuation, grammar, spelling, or other conventions of proper English.
Good	Novel Summary Student demonstrates interest and enthusiasm, but has not completed the reading assignment.	Presentation Student appears enthusiastic with material, but demonstrates difficulty answering questions posed at the presentation.	Creativity Student's work demonstrates comprehension, and enthusiasm for material presented, perhaps even providing information for action.	References Work makes reference to two	Conventions of English Final presentations are legible, and contain few errors in punctuation, grammar, spelling, or other conventions of proper English.
Fair	Novel Summary Student demonstrates a lack of complete comprehension.	Presentation Student demonstrates a lack of interest, enthusiam, or ability to answer simple questions about the material presented.	Creativity Student's work demonstrates comprehension of material presented.	References Work references only one	Conventions of English Final presentations contain several errors in punctuation, grammar, spelling, or other conventions of proper English.
Poor	Novel Summary Student demonstrates only a superficial comprehension of novel.	Presentation Student appears not to have read and/or comprehended the novel	Creativity Student's work demonstrates a lack of comprehension for material presented.	References Work is not referenced.	Conventions of English Final presentations are not thoroughly reviewed or revised.
