Syllables	Below Level Student did not have the syllable pattern 5-7-5.	On Level Student had some lines correct, but the entire poem did not have the syllable pattern 5-7-5.	Above Level Student's poem had the syllable pattern 5-7-5.
Neatness	Below Level Student penmanship was difficult to read	On Level Student penmanship is in need of improvement	Above Level Student wrote legibly and neatly
Capitalization/punctuation	Below Level Student had many errors in capitalization and punctuation.	On Level Student used correct capitalization and punctuation most of the time.	Above Level Student used correct capitalization and punctuation throughout the poem.
