The Stock Market Project
Students will choose stocks from three companies and monitor their prices over a period of time. You will choose one of these stocks and create a brocure that would explain why you would invest into this stock.

The day-to-day changes are tracked, but the calculations of the amount of change contain a one error.
Expert
*The day-to-day changes of the prices are accurately tracked.
* The student determines whether each stock's price increased or decreased overall and are correctly calculated.
Analysis of overall stock movement
Novice
There is a vague determination of whether the stocks increased or decreased.
Moderate
The student determines whether each stock's price increased or decreased overall, but the total increase or decrease in price wasn't correctly calculated.
The student determines which stock's price increased the most and/or which price decreased the most.
Master
The student determines whether each stocks price increased or decreased overall and are correctly calculated.
The stocks with the greatest increase and greatest decrease are given.

Student Stock Choice
Novice
The student identifies the stock he or she would like to buy, but gives only one reason for the decision.
Moderate
The student identifies the stock he or she would like to buy, but gives a two reasons for the decision.
Master
The student identifies the stock he or she would like to buy and gives a more than two reasons for the decision.
Expert
The student identifies the stock he or she would like to buy and gives a detailed explanation for the reasoning.
Line Graph for Stock Choice
Novice
*Student graphs a stock other than a stock he/she would like to buy.
* The line graph is missling labels for vertices and/or the labels are incorrect. *The graph is illegible.
Moderate
*Student chooses a stock he/she would like to buy but the increments are not relevant.
* Most of the vertices are labeled correctly. *The graph is somewhat easy to read.
Master
*Student chooses a stock he/she would like to buy and has most of the vertices labeled correctly and the increments are relevant to the data.
*The graph is neatly presented and is mostly easy to read.
Expert
*Student chooses a stock he/she would like to buy and the vertices are labeled correctly.

Student gave no effort and did not use time wisely
Moderate
Student did not give full effort and did not make good use of the time.

Student tried hard but did not use time effectively

Student worked very hard and used time effectively.
