Poor

The arm is positioned parallel to the ground, elbow only flexed slightly. The arm does not cross the mid-line of the body.
Fair

The arm is positioned above head, using a flinging action to propel object. Elbow only flexed slightly. Arm crosses the mid-line of the body.
Good

The elbow is flexed and the arm goes above the head. The arm finishes by crossing the mid-line of the body.
Trunk

Poor

The trunk does not rotate. The body faces the target during the entire motion.
Fair

The trunk rotates 15 to 30 degrees with the motion of the arm during the throw.
Good

The trunk rotates 45 degrees with the motion of the arm during the throw.
Feet

Poor

The feet are planted and do not leave the ground during the throw. The feet are also facing the target during the overhand throw.
Fair

The feet are facing the target. Contra-lateral step toward the target with the motion of the overhand throw.

The feet are facing a 45 degree angle from the target. Feet are not planted the entire time. Contra-lateral step during the motion of the overhand throw.
