Criteria for Interviewing Skills
	Poor 1 pts	Fair 2 pts	Good 3 pts
Questions were clear	Poor Questions were broad and confusing to the informant.	Fair Questions explained with familiar language but didn't completely communicate what the researcher wanted.	Good Complex questions were not used so that the informant felt comfortable enough to share their experiences in the online classroom.
Open Ended Questions	Poor Questions could be answered with a "yes" or "no".	Fair Most but not all questions were answered with "yes" or "no"	Good Questions led to discussion without "yes" or "no" answers.
Interviewer's neutral	Poor Leading questions were given constantly.	Fair Some questions were leading and some responses of the interviewee were received as leading.	Good Ethics was used because it is unethical for the interviewer to form opinions. The interviewer remained neutral.
Social skills	Poor Interviewer rushed through the interview, speech was difficult to hear or understand ,did not pay attention to the person interviewed, and/or was not polite to the person interviewed.	Fair Interviewer paid some attention to the person interviewed, speech was sometimes too quiet or hard to understand, and/or the interviewer was impolite some of the time.	Good Interviewer was polite. Interviewer did not speak too fast or too slowly. Interviewer was attentive to the answers and questions of the person interviewed.
Questions generated answers	Poor Interviewee got off track and didn't stay on the main idea being researched.	Fair Guiding questions were used but did not reflect the purposes of the interview	Good Great questions and guiding questions were used to keep the informants talking.All the research wasn't addressed but a portion of the research was addressed.
Substance	Poor The interview was too brief and missed a lot of the information presented in the text.	Fair Covered at least half of the information presented in the text, but could have done more.	Good Nice fluency. Covered the majority of the book from beginning to end.
Punctuality	Poor Presentation was 2 or more days late.	Fair Presentation was 1 day late.	Good Presentation was ready on time or before the due date.
