Approaching the Standard Story contains many grammatical and punctuation errors, but the errors detract little from understanding.	Meets the Standard Story follows the conventions of grammar and punctuation, but contains a few errors.	Exceeds the Standarc Story follows the conventions of grammar and punctuation with minimal errors.
Content	Below Standard Story is missing more than three clue words.	Approaching the Standard Story is missing 1-3 clue words.	Meets the Standard Story includes all of the clue words and is somewhat creative.	Exceeds the Standarc Story uses all of the "clue words" in a very smooth and creative way.
MS Word Formatting	Below Standard Student has many errors in formatting.	Approaching the Standard Student has a few errors in line spacing, font, title, or heading.	Meets the Standard Student followed all formatting directions regarding spacing, title, font, font size, etc.	Exceeds the Standarc Student followed all directions regarding spacing, title, font, and font size.
