Excellent

Shows well thought out concept with a high degree of originality and sophistication. The project is planned carefully; understanding of all concepts and instructions is clearly demonstrated.
Good

Shows good grasp of the concept with some originality and sophistication. The project is planned carefully; concepts and instructions to be more clear or more strongly evident.
Average

Shows some grasp of the concept with commonly used cliché or stereotyped imagery. The project is not clear and requires greater clarity through the use of visual elements and cues.
Limited

Lacks general grasp of the concept. Many of the project elements and cues do not lead the viewer to the intended idea.
Poor

Lacks any grasp what so ever of the concept. Project element and cues do not lead the viewer to the intended idea.
Composition & Design

Excellent

Shows strong internal integrity of the visual elements. Nothing needs to be added or removed - framing is superb.
Good

Shows internal integrity of the visual elements. A visual element needs to be added, moved or removed - framing needs some slight adjustment.
Average

Shows obvious weaknesses in the internal integrity of the visual elements. Many visual elements need to be added, moved or removed - framing needs definite adjustments.
Limited

Image is breaking apart - there is very little internal integrity of the visual elements. Most visual elements need to be rethought - framing needs major readjustment.
Poor

Visual integrity is nonexistent and image is broken apart. All of the visual needs to be rethought - framing needs a complete overhaul.
Creativity

Excellent

The student demonstrates superior creativity and originality in the selection of the visual and/or auditory components.
Good

The student demonstrates good use of creativity and originality in the selection of the visual and/or auditory components.
Average

The student demonstrates average use of creativity and originality in the selection of the visual and/or auditory components.
Limited

The student demonstrates some use of creativity and originality.
Poor

The student shows little evidence of creativity or originality in the selection of the visual and auditory components.
Technical

Excellent

Shows mastery in the use of digital media software and incorporates many different tools/techniques.
Good

Shows good command of digital media software and incorporates several different tools/techniques.
Average

Shows some command of digital media software and incorporates a few different tools/techniques.
Limited

Shows limited in the use of digital media software and incorporates few different tools/techniques.
Poor

Shows little or no command of digital media software and incorporates little to no techniques. The assignment is largely copy and pasted.
Effort

Excellent

Demonstrates above board effort in accomplishing the assignment going the extra distance in research and time spent to get the assignment done and on time.
