Persuasion Rubric 
This rubric is designed to asses the student performance in writing. The student have to write persuasive (argumentative) paragraphs by selecting one of the existing topics. The persuasive essay must contain at least 3 fully developed supporting paragraphs.

The main points are well discussed and kind of supported.
The content and the purpose of the writing are somewhat clear and logical.

Consist of 5-6 supporting details.
Developing

The content is not planned out and less effective. The main points are addressed but not supported with good details.
The content and the purpose of the writing is inconsistent (illogical) and unclear.

Consist of less than 5 supporting details.
Poor

The content is incomplete. The main points are not clear, very lack of supporting details.
Lack of persuasive appeals.
Concluding Sentence

Excellent

The conclusion is strong, give an understanding to the reader of the author's position and requesting specific action.
Good

The conclusion is recognizable. The author's position is restated in the paragraph.
Developing

The paper does not end with author's position; therefore the conclusion does not give a clear ending to the paragraph.
Poor

There is no conclusion; the paragraph just ends.
Organization

Excellent

Structure of the paragraph is clearly developed.
Good

Structure of the paragraph is developed reasonably well, but lacks clarity.
Developing

Some attempt to structure the argument has been made, but the structure is poorly developed.

There is a total lack of structure.
Diction

Excellent

Using many new vocabularies, related words that create strong appeal to persuade the reader.
Good

Using several new vocabularies, related words, but it cannot persuade the reader strongly.

There are several repetition of the words and only consist of several appeals.

Grammar

Excellent

There is no grammatical error, so that the content is clear for the reader and the paragraph is very easy to read.

There are some grammatical errors (2-3), but the paragraph is still easy to read.

There are some grammatical errors (4-5) that makes the paragraph is somewhat easy to read.
Poor

There are many grammatical errors that makes the paragraph is not easy to read.
