Supporting details are occasionally unclear, not relevant or uninteresting.	Good Clearly describes and evaluates the topic. Supporting details are relevant and interesting.
Organization	Poor Topic sentence is unclear or missing Details are missing or not relevant. No concluding sentence.	Fair Paragraph has a topic sentence but it is not strong or is in the wrong place. Details are somewhat out of order. Concluding sentence is unclear.	Good Paragraph has a strong topic sentence to begin the paragraph. Details are placed correctly to support main idea. Concluding sentence gives a sense of closure.
Word Choice	Poor Little variety in words, and they are not interesting. Writing lacks sight, smell, sound, taste or feel words.	Fair Some word variety but some words are repeated.
