Conducting an Experiment
Students are to perform an experiment in a group/by themselves which can be conducted in class. Experiments must include a problem, research, step by step experiment instructions and a method to display data. Students state their conclusion explaining if the experiment supported. Students also discuss why they choose this experiment. All information must be typed and presented.

Fair
Missing some parts of conclusion or knowledge gained. Connection between conclusion and hypothesis is not entirely clear.
Poor
Missing conclusion completely, or conclusion and hypothesis are not connected.
Presentation
Excellent
Student presents all elements of experimental design so that it is exact, specific, and detailed. Student goes above and beyond expectations.
Good
Student presents all elements of experimental design.
Fair
Student presents most elements of experimental design and is missing components that make presentation exact, specific, and detailed.
Poor
Student presentation is missing most elements of experimental design. Detail is also lacking.
WOW FACTOR
Excellent
The presentation/layout of the project is original, creative, and demonstrates comprehension through illustrations, details, and visual aids.
Good
The presentation/layout of the project provides effective illustration and visual aids to demonstrate comprehension.
Fair
The presentation/layout of the project lacks creativity and has limited incorporation of effective visual aids
Poor
The presentation/layout of the project was not typed and was missing all aspects of the wow factor.
