Group Poster Rubric 
Working in groups of three to four, students will work collaboratively on a presentation to the class based on the in class text reading of the American Dream and each group member's interpretation. Each group will prepare an 8 to 10 minute presentation to the class on their topic. Each group presentation shall include a tri-fold poster prepared by the group illustrating the group’s particular interpretation.

All basic relevant information is included, as well as some additional interesting aspects. Exhibits factual accuracy and places the subject within its historical context. Includes explanation of impact on society with sufficient detail.

Group Presentation

Each group member is a speaker and should be ready to talk about the poster. We will be doing a round-robin for presentation format-how this works was discussed in class: see comments below.

Poor

Presentation is not interesting and suggests a lack of preparation in both design and rehearsal. Does not effectively incorporate the content of the poster into the presentation. Contributions among the group's members are very poorly divided. Presentation has a poor pace and fails to fit within the time range.
Fair

Information is presented in a somewhat interesting manner. The presentation fits within the time range. The poster is used somewhat effectively as part of the presentation. All members of the group participate although there is some uneven participation.
Good

Information is presented in an interesting manner, demonstrating understanding. The presentation fits within the time range. The poster is used somewhat effectively as part of the presentation and planning is evident. All members of the group participate although there is some uneven participation.
Excellent

Information is presented clearly, and in an interesting and exciting manner, demonstrating understanding. The presentation has a good pace and fits within the time range. The poster is used effectively as part of the presentation and careful planning is evident. All members of the group participate in a meaningful way.
Creativity/Effort

Are good if they advance the meaning behind the poster: color, words, style, layout.

There is a noticeable lack of creativity and effort throughout the project.

Graphics/Pictures
